July 14th marked 31 years with the man that made me a wife. He fulfilled my dream of marrying a man who put God first. 🥰 He loves me without judgment, accepts all my faults, makes me a better woman, and supports all my crazy ideas. I love him more each year. This trip we spent a week south in Wisconsin. First, in a secluded cabin on 40 acres, then in La Crosse at the most enchanting hotel, @thecharmant.

I HIGHLY recommend getting away as a married couple at least on your anniversary. 💕 We started when the kids were little with a night or 2 away. We kept adding an additional night. SO worth the time. It takes us several days to completely relax. Then the real fun begins. 6 nights is perfect. ☺️

Love you babe! @platinumdentallab Thanks for all the ups and downs and the really big ups! We were made for each other. 😍

Meet my birth mom Julie. 🥰 These precious photos were too good not to share.

Julie has advanced dementia, so our meeting was sensitive to her needs and her memories. Her caretakers, Jill and Elisa, took care in setting up a time where it was just Julie and I; Elisa was present to support our meeting.

Elisa has been working with Julie for 3 years and knew just how to introduce us.

It was beautiful! I didn’t have any expectations, so it went just how it was supposed too.

Julie does have memory of giving birth to me and giving me up for adoption. (yesterday anyway) It was such a brave and courageous act for her to walk through that time. My desire in meeting Julie was to let her know how grateful I am for her decision and how God orchestrated it all.

As a mom, I am certain she must have held onto feelings of guilt. None of those were expressed yesterday, but I think her mind was catching up with her heart. (If that makes sense at all.)

If you are familiar with advanced dementia, the conversation can go off topic at any given moment. Elisa was so good at redirecting us and giving Julie space to absorb who I was.

In our short time together I was able to hear my birth mom say, “I love you and I am proud of you.”. I was able to feel her soft skin, watch her face light up when she smiled, hear her voice, and her endearing sense of humor. We even prayed together; she asked us too! 🥰

While she may not remember our meeting today, I will keep these moments in my mind and heart forever.

I met the woman who God decided to create me in, and I am forever at peace. 🧡

Today is a big day. One of the biggest moments in my life happens today.

As I am sitting here in the airport waiting to board; my reflection over the years dreaming of this day flood my mind.

I have always known I was adopted. I have always known the love my parents have for me and it runs deep. They never questioned that God gave me to them. I never questioned it either.

And still…..I have thought about my birth mom millions of times. What does she look like, does she think about me? When my birthday roles around I pray for her, more so as I have gotten older.

Today I get to close those dreams. I get to meet the woman who birthed me.

This meeting will be a bit more private than the reunions I shared about meeting my birth dad, cousin, and uncles.

Out of respect for her.

But I will write my experience and share it with you. Because God has to get all the glory and honor of the blessing He has given me with the biggest desire of my life.

“Honor your father......”

I am, “daddy’s little girl.” Yep. Even today.

I LOVE signing it, saying it, and thinking it.
I remember being SO excited to spend time with my dad when I was a child.

Every chance I had, I was by his side. When he would get called in for emergency dental work, I was with him as his assistant handing him tools.

When he would hand irrigate the fields behind our house, I was playing with my Little People boat and talking up a storm.

When he would work the potato fields, after seeing patients all day or on Saturdays, I would go and play on any and all farm equipment. And as I got older, I worked the potato harvester.

When he went hunting with all the men, I went along. Getting up at 4 am sometimes, traveling for miles in 4 wheel drive, scared to death at the steep grade we were climbing to get to where the elk were. I always felt safe when he was driving.

He often went flying to see where the big horn sheep were before hunting. Of course I wanted to go. One time I had to pee so badly that I literally peed in a ziplock baggie, IN THE AIR of a tiny twin engine airplane, in the back seat, while my dad was sitting next to the pilot. I don’t remember spilling a drop, but I do remember how much we laughed about it later on.🤩

A dad is the man who raised you, who brought you chocolate shakes and french fries home when you were sick, who gave you words of wisdom, who picked you up when you were feeling down, who kept you in line when you needed it, who accepted you for you, who walked you down the isle and gave you away at your wedding, who held your babies and rocked them to sleep, who when he said ‘I’m proud of you’, you knew it ran deep.
I am forever grateful God gave my daddy Ralph to me.

I could have been adopted into any family; God choose this one. I am so very glad He did.

When I met Dave, it took us 5 years to decide if we wanted kids. We were just having too much fun!!

I’m am so grateful we heard from God. Multiplying our family, was part of God’s plan. It was part of my purpose as a woman. There are many reasons why our children were born to us. One big one is God knew I needed to have blood relatives.

The feeling to finally have someone look like you is a feeling that is hard to describe. I have said many times I could have birthed dozens of babies just to see what they look like. 😊

Meeting my birth father face to face for the first time last week was epic. I look like him. And a few of my kids do too. 🙏🏻

I didn’t always feel confident in who I was in C

I didn’t always feel confident in who I was in Christ. I know my self worth isn’t based on How I feel about myself, rather on what God says about me.

Here are 3 things that have helped me stay in alignment with my purpose:

1️⃣ Nurture Your Body: Prioritize physical health by feeding it nourishing foods, regular exercise, and adequate rest.

Remember, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), so taking care of it allows you to better fulfill your purpose.

2️⃣ Nurture Your Mind with Discipline: Cultivate a disciplined mind through prayer, meditation, and studying scripture regularly.

As Philippians 4:8 advises, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

3️⃣ Guard Your Thoughts: Be intentional about the thoughts you entertain, ensuring they align with God’s word.

Proverbs 4:23 cautions, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

As you nurture your body, discipline your mind, and guard your thoughts with the wisdom of scripture, you can find peace and joy in the journey of becoming who you were created to be.🥰
